Get an all year summer glow without leaving your front door, with our 5 amazing beauty hacks for glowing skin using items you already have laying around your cupboard. 

 1.Turmeric

You guessed it right? Every couple of years the beauty goddesses dangle a little beauty secret from beauty heaven and boom – we snatch it and never let it go. 

 Mother Nature’s magic:

Turmeric contains curcumin, which has strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It eliminates the harmful free radicals that are damaging the skin. It also enhances collagen production and keeps your skin supple and glowing.

For super – charge glow, add a little Gram flour which gently cleanses the skin to make it clean and bright.

 Try this Beau Bakers recipe at home

  • 1/2-1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 4 tablespoons gram flour (also called chickpea flour)
  • Milk or water

 Simply ….

  1. Mix the turmeric powder with the gram flour.
  2. Add enough milk or water to form a paste.
  3. Apply this paste on your face and neck. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Rinse with plain water.

Apply ….

Apply 1-2 times a week for best results.

  1. Coconut Oil

Seriously … Is there anything Coconut oil is not good for? Another mother nature gem, this ingredient works wonders for dry skin types. Psst did you also know that coconut oil makes a great antibacterial, teeth whitening toothpaste used in its natural state ? Welp now you do.

  1. Warm up the oil slightly and apply it to the face and neck.
  2. Massage for a few minutes in gentle circular motions.
  3. Leave the oil on overnight.
  4. You can add some sugar to the oil and use it as a scrub to exfoliate your skin once or twice a week.

Apply….

Use coconut oil every night before going to bed for best results.

  1. Aloe Vera

ALOE, ALOE, ALOE! We adore this super-plant for skincare.

 Mother Natures’ Magic:

Aloe Vera Gel has nourishing and healing properties that rejuvenate the skin to give it a natural glow. For sustainability grow your own Aloe Vera Plant.

  • 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel
  • A pinch of turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon milk

Simply….

  1. Mix all the ingredients. Apply the mixture to the face and neck evenly.
  2. Leave it on for about 20 minutes.
  3. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Apply….

For best results apply this face pack 1-2 times a week.

 

4. Baking Soda

 Wait what?! We hear you say …. It’s Totally true though aking Soda is great for your glow.

 

Mother Natures’ Magic:

Baking soda exfoliates dead skin cells and neutralizes the skin’s PH balance.

It also has antibacterial properties that can help prevent infection.

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey

Simply ….

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Apply the mixture on damp face and neck using circular motions.
  3. Leave it on for 10 minutes.
  4. Rinse with cool water and pat dry. Moisturize as usual.

Apply ….

For best results apply this face pack once a week.

Bare in Mind : Baking soda may irritate your skin. It is best to do a patch test before hand.

 

  1. Lemon

When life gives you, Lemons make awesome skin glowing elixir.

Lemon contains vitamin C that bleaches and removes tan – yay ! no more tell-tale orange palms.

Lemons are great at making your skin appear brighter and radiant. For super glow add a little brown sugar, the sugar granules provide an exfoliating effect to help to get rid of dead cells.

  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons sugar

 

Simply…

  1. Mix the ingredients and apply the mixture on your face.
  2. Scrub in a circular motion and leave it on for 10 minutes.
  3. Rinse off with warm water to reveal glowing skin.

Apply…

Do this 2 times a week.

Bare in mind:  Lemon juice  can make your skin sensitive to light so be sure to top up your sunscreen .
